New Elementary School Breaks Ground in Alamar  

Construction of the Alamar’s new K-8 elementary school has officially begun! On Tuesday, April 26th Littleton Elementary School District held an official groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the District’s newest ‘Prep Academy’ school, located within the Alamar Community at 12050 W. Broadway, Avondale, AZ 85323.

The campus will house state-of-the-art learning spaces that integrate well with an innovative individualized curriculum designed to benefit learners beyond the 21st century. The Littleton School District has plans to maximize the 21-acre school site, which provides generous outdoor recreational areas for students and the surrounding community and includes a baseball field, softball field, soccer field and two basketball courts.

The $29 million project is funded by successful bond referendums in 2017 and 2021 and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2023. Littleton is a pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade school district serving roughly six thousand students and covering approximately thirty square miles in southeast Avondale and parts of west Phoenix.
